Every July 4th, thousands of runners cascade 6.2 miles along Peachtree Street, starting at Lenox Mall then continuing to Piedmont Park, for the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race.
This year, in its 45th running, 60,000 participants ran the 10K course through the middle of Atlanta. And I was not one of them. Running 6.2 miles just isn’t my kind of fun.
However, I was there to cheer on the runners and take a few photos. As you can see from the costumes, the event was truly festive and lots of people were in the Independence Day spirit.
