I recently dropped by the Westside Cultural Arts Center and Fay Gold Gallery again to check out their new Graffiti Mashup exhibition. I was pressed for time, but I became a huge fan of WCAC & FGG after the Art in the Streets exhibition, so I made it a priority to stop in.
Again, the collection of works on display were awesome! The vibe was a little different since this installation is composed mostly of paintings and drawings, rather than photographs. But with these mediums, you get a variety of textures, materials, colors and a snapshot of the artist’s mind, as opposed to capturing the vision of another artist. Different perspectives and presentations are what make art so beautiful.
Some of the artists on display include Totem, Kenny Scharf, Crash, Ewok, Mr. Brainwash, Sever, Daze and Zevs. Below are some photos from my visit, but take thirty minutes out of your day to go see them in person. Enjoy.
