Located about 3 1/2 hours from Atlanta, Savannah is perfect for a long weekend break from the city.
Hotel prices in the Historic District can be pricey, but my goal was to not move the car until I was ready to leave, so I was willing to pay for that luxury. It was definitely money well spent.
The “touristy” areas of Savannah, the Historic District and River Street, are easily walkable and provide lots of shopping and other activities. There are also several small parks and historic landmarks spread throughout Savannah that are definitely worth investigating.
This was a “get away and do nothing” trip for me, so I don’t have a lot to share unless you wan the play by play of my meals. Even as I look through my photos, I could have sworn that I took more. However, that might have been my intent, but it just never came to fruition. There’s always next time.
